A Message from Mrs. Duggan
Fisher School is an elementary school comprised of a curious student population, talented educators, and an involved parent community. Fisher School first opened its doors on Gould Street in 1955. As the years passed, this “New Fisher” (two schools previously built in 1790 and 1853) became overcrowded and construction of an addition began in 1969. With such a long history of education at this site, we recognize the importance entrusted to us to provide the children of North Walpole with an excellent educational experience.
Fisher School is dedicated to educate the “whole child”. We have high expectations for children academically and in their social/emotional development. Children want to learn. They are naturally inquisitive and it is our job to cultivate this love of learning in all curriculum areas, i.e. literacy, mathematics, science, technology, social studies and the integration of art, music, and physical education. As an educational community we value the good character traits of respect, responsibility, honesty and effort. Our social emotional learning curriculum, “Second Step” is the foundation of our school-wide incentive program, “You Got Caught”. Students are recognized for Fair play, displaying Impulse control, Solving problems, Honesty, Effort, and Respect.
Fisher School is the district host to several of the special education programs for the town. All of our classrooms are inclusive. We differentiate instruction to meet the needs of our individual learners. We hold high regard for developing the critical thinking skills for all students. We are all a unique blend of strengths and challenges and we see possibilities not disabilities.
This website has been prepared as a source of information for you and your child concerning the philosophy, policies and operational procedures of Fisher School. It is important that you review its’ contents periodically for updates and current events. We value your interest in your child’s education.
